Why Snowguard?

It usually takes a couple of hours to charge an electric car and many times they are left overnight with the cable plugged in and that is what the cars are built to handle. If you charge the car in a snowstorm and without a roof, snow can quickly collect around the charge port, which sometimes melts and turns into ice. The snow and ice can in turn make it difficult or impossible to close the charge port hatch.
After a couple of early morning meetings with ice in all the wrong places, an idea was born. The snow would be kept out, it would be smooth and not scratch the paint with magnets.

The existing charge port hatch fulfills all functions. It just lacked the cable entry and that's how Snowguard was born.
